User’s Manual
basics
☆Writing notes
Tap + button on the bottom of timeline.
Tap “Save” after writing a note.
You can continue writing.
Or, tap “Cancel” to close to go back to the timeline.
Notes are saved in your calendar with the current timestamp.
☆Navigating to another date
Tap calendar or swipe horizontally to move to another date.
Tap page title to open date picker if you want to move to a farther date.
Tap ↓ button on the bottom to come back to today.
☆Photos
Tapping a photo takes you to “Album mode.”
Tap will show menus on the bottom (and date stamp on top).
Tap ✖️ or swipe down to close the album.
Pinch the photo to zoom in.
Tapping the photo twice resets the zoom size.
Swipe horizontally to navigate to another photo.
Album can be closed by tapping twice when it isn’t zoomed.
Customization
☆Sort Order
Tap 🔼🔽 to change the order of notes and photos.
☆Show/Hide calendar
Swipe up calendar to hide.
Swipe down page title to show calendar.
Alternatively, tap 👁️ button on the bottom and choose “Calendar” to show calendar. Tapping calendar button on top left will hide the calendar.
☆Default calendar to save notes
Tap ⚙️ to go to settings and change default calendar to save notes. The default calendar will be selected when you start writing notes. If you write multiple notes in succession, the calendar you chose for the previous note will remain.
☆Week starts Monday
Tap ⚙️ on the bottom of timeline to go to setting. Toggle switch to make Monday the beginning of week.
☆Changing date formats
Tap ⚙️ to go to settings to change date format.
Alternatively, you can right swipe the page title to change the format.
Your Memories
☆Nostalgia mode
You’ll see a timemachine button on the bottom instead of ↓ button, if you’re already looking at today’s timeline. The timemachine button will take you to the Nostalgia mode where notes and photos from the same date (but from the past) will be shown.
If you want to go to Nostalgia mode in a differnt date, tap 👁️ button > Nostalgia mode.
Tips for fast entry
☆Insert “Quick Items” to your note
When composing a note, you can tap = button between Cancel and Save to show your “Quick Items”.
Choose items you want to insert. The list is empty if you haven’t registered anything (I will show you how later).
You can choose a single or multiple items to insert.
Tap Done and the items will be inserted to your note.
☆Adding “Quick Item”
Tap + button to add a new quick item.
Calendar is optional. If you specify a calendar, it will be chosen when the item is inserted. This can be useful if you want to organize your notes by genre using different calendars.
※ Tip: You can also add a Quick Item by long pressing a note in your timeline.
☆Inserting multiple Quick Items
Items are inserted in the order they’re selected.
You can tap Done, or long press the last item to complete the selection.
If you want spaces or linebreaks between items, you have to put them inside items. For example, if you want to insert two items such as:
#books
#sci-fi
you have to register “#books” with a linebreak (return) at the end.
☆Updating Quick Items
You cannot update existing items if Quick Items are opened from timeline. To update them, tap ⚙️ to go settings > Quick Items > Edit.
☆New items on top
Tap ⚙️ to go settings > toggle “New item on top”
Organizing notes
☆Edit mode
Tap Edit on top right > select items and choose a button on the bottom. The choices are:
・duplicate
・move to another date
・share (copy)
・change calendar
・delete
Beware the change is immediate and final. The operation CANNOT be undone.
Search
☆Start search
Tap Search bar to go into search mode.
Type in search keywords separated by a whitespace.
( iOS only) → Tap search after entering the keyword (blue software button). Search are will be automatically expanded. You can pause the expansion by tapping Pause button on the buttom.
( Android only )→ Default search area is the date you were viewing before starting your search. Tap 🔍 to expand the area.
☆Search results
Results can be edited in Edit mode.
If you want to navigate to the date of the result, longpress it and tap “Show this day”.
☆Search tips
MemoMa can remember the last keyword used. To enable this feature, go to settings.
Past search only option in settings will save time not looking for future items.
( iOS only ) Fuzzy search can treat Japanese Hiragana and Katakana as the same characters. However, the search speed can significantly reduced.
For Advanced Users
☆Show only certain calendars
By default, all notes on all calendars are shown in timeline. By adding a new “View”, specifying what it shows, you can selectively show different timelines such as Work / Private, or Family / Private.
Views can be added, duplicated, edited and deleted in ⚙️ settings.
To switch views from timeline, tap 👁️ button.
☆Take photos as reminders
When you’re busy to take notes, you can take photos so that you can add comments to them later.
Longpress a photo and tap “Add note”.
You can write a note while viewing the photo.
( iOS only ) You can delete the photo from timeline if it’s no longer needed.
☆Duration calculation
If you want to keep track of your activities, use “End” menu.
First, create a note when you start your activity.
When you finish, longpress a note and tap “End”.
The duration of the activity (time between start and end) will be shown.
If you want to get a total duration of multiple activities, include a tag such as #eventname.
After saving all activities, search them by using the tag.
Tap 📋 button for iOS. Tap Share button for Android and the total duration will be shown.
※tip: Duration has two formats: full and simple. Full will show something like “1 hour 30 minutes” whereas the Simple will show “90 minutes”. Duration format can be changed in ⚙️ settings, or by left swiping the page title of the timeline.
☆About Display modes
MemoMa is in Day mode by default. You can change to Week / Month / Year modes by expanding area. To expand, first you have to hide calendar and then tap < button on top left.
Week / Month / Year modes can be useful when counting the number of notes that have a certain keyword. The search area will not expand automatically.
There is another mode called Custom View. If you have an AllDay event that’s longer than two days, you can longpress it and tap “Show this period”. All notes and photos in the period will be displayed. This can be useful when you just want to see notes and photos from a certain event such as vacation.

MemoMa Privacy Policy
MemoMa doesn’t collect any data. Calendar events, notes and photos remain on your device. If you use iCloud, calendar and photos may be synced according to your privacy settings in Settings app. In other words, anything you prohibit Apple to do, MemoMa can’t do either.
